 5 STAGES OF MUSIC PRODUCTION


1. Composition

It is the structure of a Musical piece or to the process of creating or writing a new piece of music. People who create new compositions are called Composers. Music composition consists of different elements like rhythm, dynamics, melody, harmony and texture.

2. Arrangement

Arrangement is a musical adaption of an existing composition. It is the process of recreating a song's overall structure. Arrangements can vary greatly depending on the arranger's taste and skill.

3. Sound Design and Production

Sound Design is a term which describes everything that has to do with how professionals create and use sound i a film or video project. It is the process of recording, editing and mixing various sound elements and musical pieces for all types of visual media.

4. Mixing

Mixing involves combining all the sounds received from the multitrack recording and balancing them in levels, making some louder than others. There are five elements to mixing music that engineers and producers follow that make up the mixing process. They are balance, frequency range, panorama, dimension and dynamics. Each one of those elements are just important as the next.

5. Mastering

Mastering is the final stage of Audio Production. This involves aspects like adjusting levels , applying stereo enhancement and monitoring for clicks and pops. It prepares the music for different distribution formats such as vinyl, mp3. AAC, streaming services such as Spotify and Broadcast.
